Dua For Pain in Body
Are you experiencing discomfort or pain in your body and are looking for a spiritual way to relieve it? In Islam, there is a powerful tool called Dua (supplication), which can provide relief from bodily ailments.
This blog post will take you through the specific Duas for healing body pain, backed by authentic references from Ahadith. So, let’s jump right in and discover these powerful Duas!
Understanding the Power of Dua
Dua is considered one of the most powerful tools in Islam. It is a direct way to communicate with Allah SWT as the following verse of Quran in Surah Al-Baqarah states:
“I am truly near. I respond to one’s prayer when they call upon Me.”
In another verse in Surah Ghafir, Allah SWT says:
وَقَالَ رَبُّكُمُ ٱدْعُونِىٓ أَسْتَجِبْ لَكُمْ ۚ إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ عَنْ عِبَادَتِى سَيَدْخُلُونَ جَهَنَّمَ دَاخِرِينَ
Your Lord has proclaimed, “Call upon Me, I will respond to you. Surely those who are too proud to worship Me will enter Hell, fully humbled.” 40:60
You can use Dua to ask Allah SWT for anything you want or need, such as health, wealth, or even good school grades. The best part about making Dua is that you don’t have to be in a state of wudu to do so; all you need is a sincere intention and belief that Allah SWT will accept your Dua.
Several Duas are mentioned in the Quran, and Prophet Muhammad PBUH also informed us about several Duas via Ahadith. We will discuss in this article the Duas for pain in the body and for Health.

Dua for Pain in the Body
A companion of Prophet Muhammad PBUH Uthman bin Abul’As once complained to him about having some pain in his body. Prophet Muhammad PBUH told him to put his hand on the part of the body that was hurting and say:
“بِسْمِ اللَّهِ (Bismillah) Three times”
Then say the following seven times:
أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ وَقُدْرَتِهِ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا أَجِدُ وَأُحَاذِرُ
A`ūdhu billāhi wa qudratihi min sharri mā ajidu wa uḥādhir.
I seek refuge in Allah and in His Power from the evil of what I find and of what I guard against.
Recite this for someone going through sickness
Aishah R.A the wife of Prophet Muhammad PBUH narrates that whenever Prophet Muhammad PBUH visited a sick person, he would supplicate for him, and say:
أَذْهِبِ الْبَاسْ رَبَّ النَّاسْ وَاشْفِ أَنْتَ الشَّافِي لاَ شِفَاءَ إِلاَّ شِفَاؤُكَ شِفَاءً لاَ يُغَادِرُ سَقَمًا
Adhhibil-bas, Rabban-nas, washfi Antash-Shafi, la shifa’a illa shifa’uka shifa’an la yughadiru saqama
Take away the pain, O Lord of mankind, and grant healing, for You are the Healer, and there is no healing but Your healing that leaves no trace of sickness. Sunan Ibn Majah 3520

The Rewards of Enduring Sickness with Patience
Once, a woman came to Prophet Muhammad PBUH and told him that she was suffering from attacks of epilepsy. She asked if he could pray to Allah SWT for her cure. Prophet Muhammad PBUH said: ‘If you wish, be patient, and you will have (enter) Paradise; and if you wish, I will invoke Allah to cure you.”
The woman replied: ‘I will remain patient,’ and added, ‘but I become uncovered, so please invoke Allah for me that I may not become uncovered.’ So he invoked Allah for her.” Sahih al-Bukhari 5652
Going through any type of sickness is a great challenge, as it significantly interferes with our daily activities. Enduring these illnesses strengthens our faith and results in Allah SWT’s pleasure. Prophet Muhammad PBUH said:
“ عِظَمُ الْجَزَاءِ مَعَ عِظَمِ الْبَلاَءِ وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ إِذَا أَحَبَّ قَوْمًا ابْتَلاَهُمْ فَمَنْ رَضِيَ فَلَهُ الرِّضَا وَمَنْ سَخِطَ فَلَهُ السُّخْطُ
“The greatest reward comes with the greatest trial. When Allah loves some people, He tests them. Whoever accepts that wins His pleasure, but whoever is discontent with that earns His wrath.” Sunan Ibn Majah 4031
